Summary

Overall, the last 12 months have been a successful year for the Chamber. Our regular business-as-usual activities have continued as expected; several events have been held, and the Chamber continues to be asked to contribute to key activities in the Town, demonstrating acceptance that business support is crucial. 

Trading conditions have been challenging for many businesses, which matches the national trend. However, the Town is improving. The number of empty shops is reducing, the Town Council are being more proactive, and the improvements recently made to the market are a prime example of that. If these things can be sustained, then Berwick will be bucking the national trend. Additionally, with the investments being delivered in Berwick over the next two years, the outlook is positive.
